How are you responding to CV-19?
We are experiencing escalating interest in solutions to reduce loneliness and isolation among older adults who are quarantined at home. Given that many older adults will be encouraged to stay at home for the next 6-12 months, and potentially longer, health insurance payers, health providers, non-profits, and organizations serving seniors are looking for innovation to help those who have limited access to the outside world. We stand out because we offer a HIPAA-compliant telehealth solution, in addition to tech-enabled evidence-based services to empower older adults to age healthily, socially, and independently from home. How has business changed for you as a result of the outbreak?
We are fortunate to be able to offer much-needed solution during these difficult times. Our business is growing, we are impacting an increasing number of lives in positive ways, and we hope to continue to grow and leave a positive legacy in the world. The need for HIPAA-compliant remote care solution that also addresses loneliness and isolation among older adults is an increasingly important need for society to address, with and without a pandemic. Every day, 10,000 Americans turn 65. This is one of the fasting growing population segments in the country, and most are underserved by technology. We want to help those who need help the most. We want to offer an assessable, easy-to-use window into connecting and communication with the outside world. We want to empower every older adult to age and to thrive from home. With COVID 19, the pace of the adoption for our solution has increased significantly.
How can your business support those fighting the outbreak of impacted by CV-19?
Loneliness and isolation, which is surging with CV-19, are significant detriments to health. Studies show that loneliness is equivalent to smoking 15 cigarettes a day, and that lonely people have a 50% greater chance of suffering from premature death than their social active counterparts. We can support those fighting the outbreak by partnering with them to offer an out-of-the-box, ready-to-use solution to help older adults who are quarantined at home to have access to telecare and social engagement activities that will reduce loneliness and isolation, which improving overall health and wellbeing. What silver lining do you see in these crazy times?
Winston Churchill said, “Don’t let a good crisis go to waste.” This is the silver lining that we see. The crazy times are driving the interest and adoption of solutions designed to help older adults. Health Insurance Payers, for example, are exploring new ways to provide greater remote care for their members, not only with accessible telecare, but also with engagement solutions that will keep older adults healthy and socially active in between the visits with the caregivers.
